About this speaker
Alex is a serial entrepreneur with a background in Computer Science and an MBA. Originally from Ukraine and now residing in the Netherlands, he began his career in 1988 with the Soviet Mars program Phobos. Over the years, he has led large businesses across diverse industries, including business consulting, internet security, car navigation, high-speed rail, cultural heritage, agriculture, and road safety. In 2020, Alex introduced the Web 3.0 Data Space concept to eliminate platform monopolies and data silos by decoupling data from platforms. This vision led to the launch of MetaState Foundation in 2025, aiming to launch the working Prototype by September to empower large city communities with advanced trust systems such as eID, eVoting, eCharter and eReputation. He believes that Free Cities can harness this development to enhance efficiency, security, privacy, and governance – while also providing a robust legal foundation for their recognition by different governments – without requiring additional investment.
